Breast Enlargement – Dr. Vigo’s Guide
Breast Enlargement Dubai | 14 March 2025
Breast enlargement is a surgery aimed at increasing the breasts. It’s also called augmentation mammoplasty or breast augmentation.
Breast implants are placed under breast tissue or muscles.
How will you benefit from a Breast Enlargement?
If you think your breasts are small or one is smaller than the other, Dr. Vigo can help you.
Sometimes, a major weight reduction, or pregnancy, may modify your breast size. Discuss your goals with Dr. Vigo to learn more about breast enlargement.
How you prepare for a Breast Enlargement with Dr. Vigo
Before surgery, you discuss breast size, look, and feel with the Doctor and his Team.
Dr. Vigo discusses implant types and surgery possibilities. Saline or silicone, round or teardrop, and smooth or textured implants exist.
Breast implant candidates should discuss the FDA’s Patient Decision Checklist with Dr. Vigo. This ensures recipients understand breast implant benefits and risks.
Consider the following before surgery: potential risks associated with Breast Surgery
Breast implants may affect breastfeeding. Some breastfeed after breast augmentation. Others struggle with breastfeeding.
Insurance doesn’t cover breast implants. This is true unless the procedure is medically necessary, such as after a mastectomy for breast cancer.
After breast implant removal, further surgery may be needed. If you remove your implants, you may want a breast lift or other surgery to improve your breasts.
Screening for silicone implant rupture is advised. The FDA advises breast imaging five to six years after silicone breast implant installation.
Check for ruptured breast implants. Breast imaging is recommended every 2–3 years after that. Discuss imaging needs with Dr. Vigo after implanting.
Before surgery, mammograms may be needed. We call this baseline mammography. Dr. Vigo may alter your prescriptions before the operation. You may be recommended to avoid aspirin and other bleeding-causing drugs.
If you smoke, your surgeon will ask you to quit before and after the procedure for 4 to 6 weeks.
Someone should drive you home and stay with you the first night or more after the surgery.
Following Dr. Vigo’s instruction for a smooth return to normal activities
Discuss your return to normal activities with Dr. Vigo.
You could return to work in a few weeks if your job doesn’t demand much travel.
For two weeks, avoid straining or raising your blood pressure or pulse. Your breasts will be sensitive to touch and sudden movements while you recover.
Dr. Vigo may place drainage tubes around your breasts or apply permanent sutures. They must be removed at a later visit.
Redness and warmth in your breasts or a fever may indicate an infection. If you have those symptoms, call your surgeon immediately. If you suffer chest pain or shortness of breath, call your surgeon.
Breast augmentation alters breast size and form. The procedure may boost your self-esteem and body image. Be realistic about your aspirations. Don’t expect perfection.
