Breast Enlargement – After Your Surgery

Breast Enlargement Dubai | 6 April 2020

When your breast enlargement surgery is complete, you’ll be taken into a recovery area where you will be closely monitored. Although the time varies, most patients are discharged one to two hours after the procedure.

Your breasts will be wrapped in gauze dressings or a surgical bra. You’ll receive detailed instructions for your post-surgical care, including drains if they’ve been used. In most cases, you’ll go home in just a few hours.

You will need a caregiver to drive you home and to stay with you for the first 24 hours to watch for signs of complications.

You will be walking that same day. Your chest will feel stiff and sore for the first few days, but you can be up and about in just a day or two. Dressings can be removed in a few days, after which time you’ll wear a support bra. You’ll be able to shower three to seven days after surgery, and stitches will be removed in about a week.

Your breasts may feel tight and sensitive to the touch at first, and your skin may feel warm or itchy. It may be difficult to raise your arms. You should not lift, push or pull anything, or engage in any strenuous activity or twisting of the upper body for the first two weeks. You’ll notice some discoloration and swelling at first, but this will subside quickly. Any additional swelling should disappear within a month.

It’s often possible to return to work within a few days to a week after your breast augmentation, depending on your type of job. You should be extremely gentle with your breasts, avoiding excessive force, abrasion or motion for at least the first month.

If you experience shortness of breath, chest pains or an unusual heart rhythm during this time, seek medical attention immediately. It’s extremely important to follow your post-operative instructions.

Everything You Need to Know Before Getting Lip Fillers

Fillers in Dubai | 5 April 2020

This is a guide for first time lip filler clients on how things work, what to expect, and how to keep them looking good. First and foremost, everyone is different, different aesthetic goals, different lip structure, different metabolism, different genetics, different risk factors, etc. Do not compare yourself to someone else, you are your own lip, your own architecture, your own volume, be proud of your uniqueness! It’s what makes us different.

How long does it take?

– 10 minutes of topical numbing

– 10 minutes of procedure

Is it painful?

– Most clients have minimal discomfort, on a scale of 1-10, they are a 2-3. This is less painful than laser hair-removal, thanks to our unique numbing technique!

How swollen will I be?

– Everyone is different, some people swell up while others do not, swelling depends on multiple factors. Just because you didn’t swell one time, does not mean you will not swell the next time you do a treatment. Sometimes an anti-swelling medication will be given after your injection. I can address this at the time of the visit. Major swelling typically lasts less than 4 days on average, while minor residual swelling can last 14-21 days.

What about bruises?

– Some people are pre-disposed to bruise, avoiding vitamins, alcohol, and ibuprofen type products can decrease the chances of a bruise. Bruising comes in three sizes: Small (like the tip of a needle), medium (like the back of pencil eraser or two pencils erasers), and large (gum-ball sized). Depending on the type of bruise they can last 2-3 days or up to 2 weeks respectively.  Arnika pills can be purchased during your visit that can help heal bruises. From time to time a laser can be used to speed up the process if warranted for specific cases.

How long does it last?

– Typically lip injections last 6 months depending on multiple factors including product used. I’ve seen people that have had fillers lasting as little as 2 months and as much as 1 year.

Will I have to keep on doing the procedure?

No! You can stop doing your lips any time and they will slowly return to near normal. The skin will not “stretch out”. Some people do their lips every 4 months to keep them extra juicy, while others elect to do them every 6-8 months. This is a personal preference and will need to be decided along the way.

I don’t know what product to use.

– I typically recommend the juvederm line of products there are two main types for lip volume, juvederm ultra plus xc and juvederm ultra. Depending on your aesthetic goals and lip structure we can select what is right for you. New Generation Juvederms include volbella (typically for older clients) and vollure. These will be discussed in person if necessary for your treatment.

I’ve heard about people having bumps…

– Unfortunately bumps do happen! If a doctor tells you that bumps never happen, be cautious, they do happen but it is not very common. Most bumps are small resolving bruises or some of the product. Usually you can massage them out after 2 weeks time, otherwise small droplet injections of a dissolver can be used in rare-instances to help get rid of these bumps

It looks un-even….

– This is rather common! Not to worry, usually swelling accounts for the majority of this, swelling can be worse on one side than the other, let all the swelling come down (7-14 days in most cases) and then re-evaluate the symmetry, 95% of the time this self resolves.

When can I go back to normal activities?

– After about 24hrs you can resume normal activities

Can I fly after the procedure?

– Yes, but keep in mind that flying makes you dehydrated so try to avoid salty foods and drink tons of water.

When Can I work out?

– You can return to normal activities the next morning, avoid rubbing your lips vigorously, eating very hot foods, and chew carefully the day of the procedure.

What can I do to keep them looking great?

– I recommend a topical vitamin C based cream from skinceuticals for adequate hydration, drink 8 glasses of water a day, and avoid repetitively biting or “mashing” your lips together as this makes the product dissolve faster.

What is the Best Incision for Breast Augmentation?

Breast Augmentation Dubai | 4 April 2020

It is important to know the pros and cons for the incision site and have the optimal solution specifically recommended for you.

Breast augmentation with cohesive silicone implants requires a larger incision site than saline implants. There are 3 common incision sites: around the nipple (periareolar), within the breast fold (inframammary), or under the arm (axillary or transaxillary).

Periareolar – This incision is typically more concealed, but since it also involves cutting through the breast tissue, it is associated with a higher likelihood of breastfeeding difficulties, as compared to the other incision sites. Cutting through the tissue may make a change in sensation or infection more of a concern.

Inframammary – This incision is generally less concealed than periareolar but it is associated with fewer breastfeeding difficulties than the periareolar incision site. It is also the most commonly used incision site at the present time because many surgeons feel it gives the best access to and control of the breast implant pocket.

Transaxillary – This incision is less concealed than periareolar and associated with fewer breastfeeding difficulties than the periareolar incision site. If the incision is made under the arm, the surgeon may use a probe fitted with a miniature camera, along with very small instruments, to create a “pocket” for the breast implant. This approach is more difficult, and may increase the risk of damage to, and unexpected location of, the implant.

BREAST ENLARGEMENT – TIPS TO GETTING YOUR SIZE RIGHT

Breast Enlargement Dubai | 3 April 2020

Breast enlargement surgery, also known as breast augmentation or breast enhancement, is one of the most regularly performed procedures and involves the insertion of implants under the breast tissue to increase the size or change the shape of the breasts. Many women choose to have breast augmentation surgery to boost body confidence and to feel comfortable with the size and shape of their breasts.

Wardrobe

Bring in different types of outfits to try on with your sizers. You want to make sure that you are comfortable in your casual dress as well as your cocktail dress. Plain baby-doll t-shirts work best.

Personality

Think about your personality (outgoing or shy) and how you want to be perceived by the public. Then, make sure that you convey this to me. Breasts that are larger than what what would be portionate may suit your style. On the other hand, you may lean towards looking great in a cocktail dress without attracting unwanted attention at work.

Fitness

Factor in your exercise routine. If you are a runner or serious athlete, you will want to choose implants that won’t interfere with your fitness routine.

You’re In Charge

Although I will be your guide, I don’t dictate what size you should be. It’s a collaboration. However, there may be a situation when I don’t recommend going with the size you want. If that’s the case, you may want to have further discussions to make sure you understand the reasoning behind this.

Be You

Don’t pick your implant size based on how it looks on a friend. Even though you and your friend may seem similar in terms of body size, there are other factors that must be considered. It’s natural to think “My girlfriend has 350’s so I should get the same size because they look perfect on her.” But the important words are “…on her.” If you are open to different implant options, it’s more likely that you’ll find the one that is just right for you.

Know When Enough is Enough

Remember that you are picking the size of your breasts not just for this year but for many years to come. If you choose an implant that is too big, you may have issues with back pain and sagging later on. Ask any of our breast reduction patients and they will tell you that much bigger isn’t always better!

Bring A Friend

You may find that you would enjoy bringing a friend or spouse with you when you try on sizers. Our staff is great at guiding you in this process but sometimes it’s fun to have someone else there who knows you well. Also, there is a large quantity of information discussed during your consultation so it’s nice to have an extra set of ears.

Comparing Different Types of Facial Fillers

Fillers in Dubai | 2 April 2020

Facial fillers, also known as dermal fillers, can work all sorts of magic: plump thinning lips, give eyebrows a lift, enhance cheekbones, erase under-eye circles, smooth smile lines, and leave you looking more rested and rejuvenated—and yes, even, a few years younger.

Dermal fillers can be injected in less than an hour and require little to no downtime afterward. Side effects are minor. Once in a while, a person may have an allergic reaction to a dermal filler, but for most people, the worst that will happen is mild bruising, swelling, or redness where the filler was injected—all temporary side effects.

Temporary is the key word when talking about the only other potential downside of facial fillers: They don’t last forever. Sometimes the effect wears away after 6 months, depending on the filler and how it’s used. That said, some procedures yield results that are good for as long as a year and a half.

Unlike botulinum toxin injectables—such as Botox, Dysport or Xeomin – which impact the way muscles move in your upper face, dermal fillers are meant to “take up space” just under the skin to fill in lines and restore volume lost to aging.

HYALURONIC ACID DERMAL FILLERS

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are well-loved for their long-lasting, natural-looking results. Here’s the lowdown on hyaluronic acid fillers like the Juvéderm family of fillers, Belotero Balance and Restylane Lyft.

For the science buffs: hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan found in epithelial, neural, and connective tissues in humans. For the rest of us: HA is a carbohydrate that naturally occurs in the body. Because it attracts water, HA helps keep skin lubricated, supple, and youthful-looking. The dermis (deepest layer of skin) is composed of hyaluronic acid and collagen—and as we age, our reserves of both are naturally depleted.

The reason HA makes such a powerful ingredient in dermal fillers is the way it interacts with the moisture in your skin. In gel form, HA will swell when combined with water, which ultimately smooths and fills lines and wrinkles while restoring natural-looking volume. The HA used in dermal fillers is either synthesized using bacteria or derived from animals, such as rooster comb. Because it mimics the HA already in our bodies, there is very low risk of adverse reaction.

Thanks to advancements in our understanding of the aging process, how hyaluronic acid works, and the quality of available dermal fillers, we are able to provide more consistent, longer-lasting results. Often, the hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers has gone through a crosslinking process, where the molecules have been chemically bonded to help them last in the body for longer periods of time.

Not all hyaluronic acid fillers are the same, and certain products are better-suited to addressing certain concerns. The consistency, size of the hyaluronic acid molecule, and how the molecules are bonded all impact where a filler works best and how long results will last.

NON-HYALURONIC ACID FILLERS

While hyaluronic acid fillers may be popular, they’re not your only option—and sometimes an alternate product will provide you with better results. Non-hyaluronic acid fillers are composed of a variety of ingredients ranging from collagen to mineral compounds. Often, these products provide a two-fold benefit: they physically fill in lines and plump up the skin in addition to helping your body make more collagen for a fuller, healthier look.

While you can likely expect nice looking results from any of the products, it’s important to be open with your provider and provide clear information about your expectations and any allergies you may have. It’s also worth your while to ask what can be done if you do not like your results – unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, the above fillers cannot be “undone” by anything other than time.

POPULAR DERMAL FILLER BRANDS

The Juvéderm family of fillers include multiple formulations specifically designed for treating different areas of the face and addressing a variety of concerns. All Juvéderm products contain lidocaine to help ensure treatment is as comfortable as possible.

Juvéderm XC instantly softens the appearance of moderate to severe creases on the mid- and lower-face for up to a year.
Juvéderm VOLLURE XC is a firmer, crosslinked gel that is ideal for smoothing deeper wrinkles around the nose and mouth for over a year. It uses Juvéderm’s patented VYCROSS technology (a particular ratio of large and small HA molecules) to create a very smooth result that is still durable enough to handle the movements of the lower face beautifully. VOLLURE is great for treating smile lines, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds.
Juvéderm VOLUMA XC is used to restore volume in all three areas of the cheeks and create a youthful contour in the midface. It provides a subtle lift, helping patients look noticeably younger, for up to two years.
Juvéderm VOLBELLA XC can subtly enhance lip volume, improve lip definition, and soften vertical lip lines. It has a lower concentration of HA in differently weighted particles to ensure it is soft enough to provide very natural results but durable enough to last at least a year.
Like Juvéderm products, Belotero Balance is formulated with hyaluronic acid and designed to fill in creases and correct age-related volume loss. What makes these two products different is their crosslinking, how cohesive the product is, and the firmness of the gel. Belotero is less viscous and thus able to spread to all the small areas of the dermis, which is why it is often recommended for treating “etched in” creases.

Restylane Lyft, on the other hand, is a denser hyaluronic acid gel with a higher molecular weight, meaning it’s a good option for treating deeper nasolabial folds, filling in severe lip lines, and adding volume to the cheeks.

Bellafill fills in lines and improves the appearance of scarring for up to five years. It contains a mixture of collagen gel and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres to improve wrinkles in two ways: it physically restores volume and plumps deep wrinkles and scars as the product rests under the skin and it provides an internal support structure to prompt your body’s natural collagen production. That means that while you’ll see see instant results, your skin will look and function better long-term and results will improve with time.

Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite, which is a mineral compound found naturally in human bones and cartilage. When injected, it quickly acts to replenish lost volume while simultaneously prompting collagen production for lasting improvement. Radiesse can be mixed with lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. In addition to correcting facial wrinkles, Radiesse is often favored for hand rejuvenation.

Sculptra is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid that works by stimulating collagen production, restoring your skin’s inner structure, and increasing volume subtly and gradually over time. Sculptra is unique in its ability to provide improvement for at least two years after a treatment course of three to four injection sessions.

The Benefits of Breast Augmentation in Dubai

Breast Augmentation Dubai | 1 April 2020

I strive to ensure my patients are emotionally well-prepared for breast augmentation surgery. Being able to discuss any issue or question with me is a big part of identifying emotional concerns. I find most women who have breast augmentation surgery are realistic about the surgery and their anticipated results. Patients with a realistic outlook tend to have a better overall experience. Patients seeking breast enhancement for their own personal reasons – and not to fulfill someone else’s desires – also leads to better emotional satisfaction. Every patient will experience some degree of emotional stress and depression after surgery. Typically, this can reach its peak on Day 5 following surgery – due to very predictable physiological reasons (fluid retention, swelling,etc.). When patients are counseled properly to recognize the onset of this experience, they know it’s just a normal part of the healing process.

Added Volume and Curves
Some women are born with breasts that are naturally small and flat and don’t provide their desired curves to their physique. Because breast implants especially add volume to the top of the breasts, a breast augmentation is a perfect way to add volume and curves to your silhouette, making you feel more voluptuous and feminine. Whether your goal is to go up to a certain cup size, fill out a bikini top, or just have curves in your everyday clothing, a breast augmentation can give you that new look you desire.

Even Out Naturally Asymmetrical Breasts
All women have some degree of breast asymmetry. But for some women, the differences in their breast sizes are so noticeable that it makes shopping for bras and bathing suits difficult, and the differences can be embarrassingly noticeable in clothing. A breast augmentation is a great way to balance out naturally uneven breasts for women. Because you can choose a different breast implant size, shape and profile per breast, a breast augmentation can allow you to finally have evenly matched breasts that fit well into bras, bathing suits, and clothing.

Restore Breasts After Pregnancy and Aging
We all know that pregnancy can take a toll on a mother’s body, especially her breasts. Mothers often end up with breasts that are sagging and have decreased volume, particularly if they breastfed their babies. And even women who do not have children notice similar changes in their breasts as gravity takes over as they age. A breast augmentation is a fantastic way to restore lost volume to breasts and make them appear more youthful and perkier.

Rebuild Breasts After a Mastectomy
Breast cancer is an extremely physically and emotionally difficult disease to deal with, and a mastectomy, though it can be life-saving, can leave a woman feeling like a shell of her former self. A post-mastectomy breast augmentation/reconstruction, which can be performed either using a woman’s own body tissue or a silicone or saline breast implant, can restore breasts and help cancer patients and survivors feel like themselves again. Dr. Vigo specializes in helping women with mastectomy reconstructions and would be honored to discuss this procedure with you.

Increase Self-Confidence
For women who are unhappy with the natural appearance of their breasts, their current look can make them feel inferior and lack confidence. A breast augmentation can be a confidence booster, making women feel more comfortable in their bodies and confident enough to step out in beach attire.

Renuvion J-Plasma – Nonsurgical Skin Tightening

Cosmetic Clinic Dubai | 26 March 2020

Renuvion J-Plasma body contouring and skin tightening is an innovative minimally invasive treatment that tightens as well as contours saggy skin in almost any area of the body. It can offer particularly desirable results as a non-surgical neck lift procedure. A special device delivering helium plasma energy via small incisions to the undersurface of the skin in the neck region helps achieve a tauter and more contoured neck appearance. Renuvion J-Plasma can be performed as a stand-alone procedure. However, it is frequently performed along with liposuction cosmetic surgery. While liposuction eliminates fat below the chin and around the neck, J-Plasma tightens the skin. This provides remarkable improvements to the neck contours without traditional neck lift surgery.

The same local tumescent anesthesia used for liposuction is also administered in the neck area to perform J-Plasma neck lift. The surgeon will place small incisions in the treatment area. If the patient is undergoing liposuction along with J-Plasma, the surgeon will perform the liposuction first. They will then use the same incisions to insert a unique device to deliver helium plasma energy to the skin’s under-surface to tighten and contour it in a precise way. The helium energy immediately tightens the skin and encourages the production of new collagen in the treated skin facilitating improvement which will continue for several months after the procedure.

The patient may experience mild inflammation and light bruising following this procedure. This typically resolves in 7 to 14 days. Even if this procedure is done along with liposuction, there is no additional recovery time than if the patient had received liposuction alone. The surgeon may recommend recipients of J-Plasma procedure to wear the same post-op garments as liposuction patients. Similar to liposuction recovery, patients can resume light activities and short walks at home within 2 to 3 days.

Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment for Hair Loss

Cosmetic Clinic Dubai | 22 March 2020

Are you looking for a hair loss solution? A therapy that promotes healing in injured joints may help restore your lost hair. Millions of men and women have male- or female-pattern baldness. It can begin early in life, but is much more common after the age of 50, when more than 50 percent of men will experience some kind of hair loss. However, an emerging treatment — platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy — appears to help regrow lost hair. And, there are virtually no side effects from PRP, except for a mild feeling of pressure at the injection site.

Physicians began using PRP therapy about a decade ago to speed up the healing process in damaged joints after injury or surgery. During the treatment, a technician draws your blood and spins it in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets and plasma. Doctors then inject the plasma, which helps repair blood vessels, promote cell growth and wound healing, and stimulate collagen production.

Doctors began using PRP in dermatology after researchers found that high concentrations of platelets in plasma cells help promote hair growth by prolonging the growing phase of the hair cycle. Doctors inject plasma into the scalp where hair loss has occurred. They typically administer injections monthly for three months, then spread them out over about three or four months for up to two years. The injection schedule will depend on your genetics, pattern and amount of hair loss, age and hormones.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty or Eye Lift) for a Youthful Look

Blepharoplasty Dubai | 21 March 2020

The eyes have a dramatic impact on appearance and can let others know how we feel – whether we are happy, sad, angry, or tired. They are one of the first things we notice and they have a great deal to do with how others perceive us as they glance at our facial features. Eyes with excessive or sagging skin are frequently associated with a perception of old age (even when they occur in a young per-son) and tiredness. Unfortunately the eyes are often one of the first areas on the face to show tell-tale signs of aging. Over time, the eyelids may begin to droop and sag. Bags can form under the eyelids making it hard to feel alive and vibrant. The loose skin over your eyes and the fat bags under your eyes may be making you look more tired and older than you feel inside.

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is an operation (actually, a set of operations) for your eyelids designed to maintain the appearance of your eyes. Surgery of the eyelids, blepharoplasty upper and lower, can correct sagging eyelids, remove fatty pouches beneath the eyes and remove excess skin from the upper eyelids.

Blepharoplasty is an operation performed on the eyelids (upper, lower or both) which involves the removal of skin and soft tissue, resulting in a fresher more youthful appearance to the eyes and entire face.

The blepharoplasty procedure is done to reduce the heaviness around the eyes. This appearance can be associated with skin, fat, and muscle excess both to the upper and lower eyelids leaving patients with a tired appearance even though may feel well rested. Blepharoplasty is often done as an elective surgery for cosmetic reasons. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty seeks to improve puffy lower eyelid “bags” and reduce the wrinkling of skin.

Blepharoplasty is sometimes needed for functional reasons. When an advanced amount of upper eyelid skin is present, the skin may protrude over the eyelashes and causes a loss of peripheral vision. The outer and upper parts of the visual field are most commonly affected and the condition may cause difficulty with activities such as driving or reading. In this circumstance, upper eyelid blepharoplasty is performed to improve peripheral vision.

Facial Cosmetic Surgery For Women

Cosmetic Surgery Dubai | 20 March 2020

Your face is the first thing people see about you, and it is often how you are remembered by the people you meet. Feeling self-conscious about your face can have a huge impact on your confidence and the way you feel when you meet new people. Cosmetic procedures of the face can encompass a wide range of treatments focused on different target areas; the ears, brow, eyes, nose, skin or general shape of the face, depending on your overall aesthetic goals. Whether you want to rebalance the proportions of your face, or simply just restore some youthfulness. I offer you a first-class service to help give you the cosmetic outcome you have always wanted! I offer a number of cosmetic procedures that can provide aesthetic enhancement to your face:

EAR RESHAPING – Also known as ‘otoplasty’ or ‘pinnaplasty’, this is a general procedure for altering the shape and/or position of the ears. It can include pinning them back, reducing their size or reshaping them due to deformity or following injury.

BROW LIFT – A brow lift is a procedure that provides subtle rejuvenation to the upper proportion of your face to give a youthful, smoother result. This surgery can directly address a heavier, thicker brow to give a refreshed, lighter overall appearance to the face.

EYELID SURGERY – As skin matures, it can lose its firm appearance – this is often seen most prominently around the eyes, where the muscles around the eyes begin to sag. Dropping of the eyelid and dark circles under the eye can give the appearance of tiredness and weariness, and for some people can affect their confidence. Eyelid-lifting surgery, also known as ‘blepharoplasty’ aims to tighten the loose skin around the eyes to lift the overall appearance and help you to achieve a youthful look with sparkling eyes. Here you can find out more about eyelid surgery.

FACELIFT – Over time, facial skin can begin to drop and face and neck muscles can lose their natural tone as part of the normal ageing process. A facelift procedure targets the lower two-thirds of the face to remove excess fat and skin by restoring the tautness of the skin to give outstanding and long-lasting youthful results. This is often done alongside eyelid surgery to give an overall lift of the face. Read more about face lift surgery.
