BLEPHAROPLASTY, ADDRESSES SAGGY OR DROOPY EYELIDS, WHICH CAN MAKE MEN AND WOMEN LOOK OLDER THAN THEY ARE

BLEPHAROPLASTY DUBAI | 26 JANUARY 2023

Blepharoplasty can be performed for any of the following reasons,

– The ‘tired’ look is the most common reason that patients opt for blepharoplasty surgery. The heaviness of the eyelids and bags under the eyes give the appearance of a constantly exhausted and tired appearance.

– The appearance of the eyelids may be asymmetrical and blepharoplasty may be performed to improve symmetry.

– Saggy upper eyelid skin can obstruct the visual field (you may not be able to see the full extent of your lateral vision) so blepharoplasty is performed to remove this obstruction and improve vision.

– There are several disfiguring conditions such as Thyroid Eye Disease which require blepharoplasty surgery to restore the natural appearance of the eyes. This type of surgery is highly specialised.

How Is Eyelid Blepharoplasty Surgery Performed?

Experience and expertise are required to execute all forms of blepharoplasty surgery. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is a procedure offering rapid recovery. The blepharoplasty incision is measured and marked. Variable amounts of skin, underlying muscle and fat are removed, or if there is pre-existing upper eyelid hollowness, these tissues can be repositioned to fill the hollows in order to achieve a pleasing and youthful appearance of the eyelid and to improve the visual field. After the desired amount of excision is accomplished, buried dissolvable stitches are used and the skin surface is closed. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a more involved procedure requiring an incision under the eyelash line, running beyond the corner of the eye. Excess skin, muscle and fat can then be removed or repositioned through this incision. Sometimes, particularly for younger patients, the main aesthetic issue is the underlying fat bulge. In these cases, a transconjunctival ‘scarless’ approach through the inside of the eyelid is preferred.

The skin closure is made using either removable sutures or with glue, meaning that sometimes no suture removal is required. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery is most often performed under local anesthesia either with or without sedation. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is usually performed under local anaesthesia with sedation, or general anaesthesia if the patient prefers. When having both upper and lower eyelid surgery together.

THE NOSE IS AN AREA OF INSECURITY FOR A NUMBER OF PATIENTS. NON-SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY ALSO CALLED A NOSE JOB, IS A SAFE ALTERNATIVE TO SURGERY

AESTHETIC MEDICINE DUBAI | 23 JANUARY 2023

Up until recently, altering the nose required a painful surgical operation, an overnight hospital stay, and a protracted recuperation period. Dermal fillers are used during non-surgical nose reshaping, commonly referred to as non-surgical rhinoplasty, to change or contour your nose and smooth out any lumps and abnormalities. Because it’s a great option for people who don’t want surgery, the non-surgical nose job has become a common treatment for people of all ages. One of the biggest benefits of nose reshaping fillers is that you may go back to work the following day and carry on with your regular routine. No more hospital stays, absences, or protracted recuperation times.

Let me help you feel satisfied with what you see in the mirror by performing a simple, scalpel-free surgery that is highly effective and walk-in, walk-out. A highly sophisticated treatment is nonsurgical rhinoplasty, sometimes known as nonsurgical nose job. To balance your profile and sculpt your nose, I’ll utilise top-quality hyaluronic acid nose fillers. As a result, this treatment is specifically designed to meet your aesthetic objectives and unique face shape.

NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY WITH NOSE FILLERS

The non surgical rhinoplasty is an advanced corrective procedure. Using hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, the nose can be reshaped with just a small number of injections in a short period of time with little to no downtime involved. As such, the non surgical rhinoplasy has become extremely popular with both men and women alike. This treatment is performed using premium hyaluronic acid to reshape the nose and provide harmony to the face.

I use nose fillers to alter the definition, projection, profile and shape of the nose. As such, non surgical rhinoplasty is best for straightening, lengthening, smoothing out bumps or dents and improving asymmetries in the nose. The key benefits of my personalised non surgical rhinoplasty include:

– Safe & effective treatment using premium dermal fillers

– Fully bespoke non surgical rhinoplasty nose reshaping treatment

– Profile balancing by treating the chin area if needed

– All treatments performed by an experienced aesthetic doctor

– Premium hyaluronic acid dermal fillers

– Natural looking results

– Dedicated aftercare and follow-up

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THIS TREATMENT OVER TRADITIONAL RHINOPLASTY?

Aesthetic Medcine now has more and more options for performing non-surgical procedures. Being non-surgical it means less risk, less downtime, fewer side effects and yet with very similar results. The new non-surgical nose job using dermal fillers means I can do so much in minutes and with no pain. Surgical rhinoplasty, however, takes a month or longer to recover from and results are not always perfect. I was one of the first doctors a few years ago who developed the technique of the non-surgical procedure now done by doctors all over the UAE.

WHAT DOES THE NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

All of my non surgical rhinoplasties start with a detailed consultation. This allows me to design a bespoke treatment based on your individual needs and aesthetic goals. The treatment starts with a thoroughcleansing of the skin then applying a numbing cream for your comfort. I will then inject the nose filler using either a needle. I may also inject the chin area to help balance the profile of yourself as part of the procedure.

WHO IS BEST SUITED FOR A NON SURGICAL RHINOPLASTY?

Non surgical rhinoplasty is a quick and non invasive method to shape the appearance of the nose. This treatment uses hyaluronic acid dermal fillers which are temporary and slowly broken down by your body over time. I am able to deliver excellent results using nose fillers for:

– Mildly crooked nose to improve symmetry

– Small nose that needs building up

– Hook-shaped nose that requires straightening

– Mild or moderate bump on the bridge of the nose that needs smoothing

– A mild to moderate drooping of nasal tip that

– Noses that would like more height, definition and a nose tip

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS AND HOW LONG DO THEY LAST FOR?

You will be able to see the result immediately and the full effect at 1-2 weeks. The results can last for up to 18-24 months. This is dependant on which of our hyaluronic acid dermal fillers you choose and how quickly your body breaks it down. I will help you decide which dermal filler is best for your needs.

HOW SAFE IS A NON-SURGICAL NOSE JOB?

Juvéderm and Restylane Perlane, which are usually used in this procedure, are biocompatible and biodegradable products which means that it is not harmful to the body and is broken down and removed from the body naturally. These hyaluronic acid nose fillers come in the form of a sterile gel produced in the laboratory.

GYNAECOMASTIA FOR MEN | CHEST REDUCTION

PLASTIC SURGERY DUBAI | 21 JANUARY 2023

One or both of their breasts may appear excessively big to some guys. This disorder, referred to as gynaecomastia, can be brought on by an imbalance in hormones or by being extremely overweight, which can raise oestrogen levels and cause breast tissue to expand. For men with this problem, breast reduction surgery is a possibility. After a significant weight reduction that has caused the skin to sag, it can also be utilised to tighten the breast area. It is not appropriate for males whose huge breasts are just extra fat from being overweight, though.

WHAT IS GYNAECOMASTIA?

Gynaecomastia is the benign (non-cancerous) growth of male breast tissue and can be due to a number of causes. It may be due to hormone imbalance or as a consequence of medication you are taking. It can also be due to alcohol excess or recreational drug abuse. I will discuss the cause of your gynaecomastia with you. Along with causing swelling of the breast and nipple, gynaecomastia can be uncomfortable and the nipple can become sensitive.

HOW CAN GYNAECOMASTIA BE TREATED?

Some gynecomastia situations will improve on their own without any sort of medical intervention. Gynecomastia may subside with the substitution or discontinuation of a certain medicine if it is believed to be brought on by one of your prescription drugs. Gynaecomastia can be painful and unattractive, but it is not harmful and will not cause any harm if you have it. Many men are content with no treatment after cancer has been ruled out. The use of medication is another kind of treatment. These drugs frequently work well to lessen pain and sensitivity, although they might not shrink the breasts. The third treatment option entails breast surgery.

SURGICAL TREATMENT OF GYNAECOMASTIA

There are three main surgical procedures which can be undertaken:

Liposuction

Liposuction is used to remove the fatty tissue under a general anaesthetic. Small incisions (cuts) are made on the chest wall. A small metal tube (cannula) is used to suck out the fatty tissue. The incisions are then sutured to give a flatter, firmer and better-contoured chest. Any stitches will be of the dissolving type and so do not need to be removed.

Excision of gynaecomastia

In excisional surgery, I will make a cut around the nipple to remove the breast tissue. This may be combined with liposuction of the breast tissue at the same time.

Male breast reduction

If the breast is very large more tissue and skin may have to be removed. This will give more scars. The degree of scarring will depend on how much skin needs to be removed. I will advise you about this.

AFTER SURGERY

After surgery for gynaecomastia your breasts will look discoloured and feel firm and swollen. Bruises can occur. You may need to have a drain (a fine plastic tube) inserted into the breast during the operation. This will be removed by the breast care nurses seven days after your operation. You should be able to go home the same day. You may be advised to wear a corset for up to four weeks after the operation to help with the swelling. You will not be able to drive home after your operation and it may be two to three days before you can drive.

The dressings can be removed after 7-10 days and you should be able to return to work after one weeks. For the first three weeks after the operation, don’t lift anything heavy or do heavy manual work. Most men resume normal activities within two to three weeks.

FOLLOW UP

You will be given an appointment to return to the clinic in 7-10 days where the dressings and drain(s) will be removed and the wounds inspected. You will also be reviewed after your surgery once the bruising and swelling has completely settled.

LONG TERM OUTLOOK

If liposuction is performed and only fat is removed, weight gain can make the gynaecomastia return. If the breast tissue itself is removed, as in the excision surgery or male breast reduction there is a chance the breast tissue can regrow. You will have medical photography before and after surgery of your chest. There will be nothing which will identify you to anyone else on these and they are used as a record of your treatment.

MOST PEOPLE EVENTUALLY EXPERIENCE THE VISUAL SIGNS OF AGING IN THE FACE AND NECK

PLASTIC SURGERY DUBAI |  15 JANUARY 2023

As muscles and skin lose their flexibility, lines and wrinkles commonly emerge on the neck as the earliest indicators of ageing. The same result may also result from significant weight loss, but whatever the reason, the neck is a frequently disregarded sign of ageing. The goal of this operation is to assist make your neck seem better. The goal of a neck lift, a type of cosmetic surgery, is to rearrange the skin around the neck and jaw, minimising drooping and other outward indications of ageing. A neck lift can enhance the skin’s appearance, giving the patient a more young and revitalised appearance. These procedures often make up a neck lift:

The most common treatment for loose skin that gathers around your throat, sometimes known as “turkey wattle,” is surgery to tighten the surrounding muscles and skin. Vertical bands, lines, and wrinkles can form as elasticity in the skin begins to decline. We can use liposuction to remove extra fat or anti-wrinkle injections to remove the “banding” to tighten the muscles in the neck. We can also remove extra skin.

A neck lift is also sometimes performed in conjunction with a facelift. Neck lift surgery, rather than a full facelift, may be sufficient to achieve the results you desire.

The procedure – If you’re having the full neck lift procedure you will be given the option of going under a general anaesthetic, so you’ll be asleep throughout. Dr. Vigo will make a series of incisions under your chin and behind your ears to access a neck muscle called the platysma. He will use small surgical instruments to make adjustments to the muscle before tightening the skin across the whole neck area. Liposuction may also be used to remove excess fat. The whole procedure usually takes around three to four hours.

If you’re just having liposuction Dr. Vigo will make a small cut beneath your chin to remove any excess fat. This will usually take around an hour. Anti-wrinkle injections – which can relax the parts of the platysma that are responsible for banding – can be given in 15 minutes and will be done on an outpatient basis. Afterwards your neck will be wrapped in compression bandages that you will need to wear for about a week.

ABDOMINOPLASTY: AN EXPERT INSIGHT

ABDOMINOPLASTY DUBAI | 11 JANUARY 2023

Overabundance skin and fat might mutilate the existence of the midriff after pregnancy or weight loss. Particularly, many women discover that their muscles and skin don’t return to their original appearance after having a subsequent child or after having twins, which may result in a repeated stretch in the middle. The “stomach fold” procedure, often known as an abdominoplasty, firms up the midsection by removing excess skin and fat while also repairing the abs. If your weight is stable, you are physically well, you don’t smoke, and you have reasonable expectations, you have a good chance of getting a belly fold.

LIFE SYSTEMS OF THE ABDOMEN

The stomach wall comprises of skin, fat, and muscle. The rectus abdominis muscles, which structure the “six pack” of muscles on the midsection, are covered by a firm sheath called the rectus sash. This fascial layer often debilitates and loosens up with pregnancy and weight gain. Thus, when a patient gets in shape or has her kids, she might be left with laxity of the stomach wall. During medical procedure, the fascial layer over the rectus abdominis muscles is fixed, and the abundance skin and fat are taken out.

MEDICAL PROCEDURE STEPS

An even cut is made inside the two-piece line in the lower midsection while using the abdominoplasty procedure. The cut can be done in a comparable location and extended to the sides in patients who have undergone a prior C-segment. The excess skin and fat are controlled and redraped, while the rectus abdominis muscles of the stomach are corrected. The umbilicus, or navel, must typically be repositioned during an abdominal surgery procedure through a subsequent cut. In the “small scale” abdominoplasty technique, the lower abdominal muscles are fixed with fat and skin removed solely through a constrained flat swimsuit cut, without the navel being repositioned.

EXTRA PROCEDURES

Liposuction is occasionally used in conjunction with abdominal surgery to contour the flanks. A few individuals choose to have a medical operation to raise, add volume, or both on their bosoms at the same time. A “mom makeover” method is frequently used to refer to the combination of a belly fold surgery and a breast lift surgery.

PRE-SURGERY INSTRUCTIONS: BREAST AUGMENTATION

BREAST AUGMENTATION DUBAI | 3 JANUARY 2023

You will visit with your doctor and choose the ideal embeds for your physique, desired outcomes, and style of life before having breast augmentation surgery. Dr Vigo will most likely advise organised bosom implants if you prefer a natural look and feel. Your specialist should walk you through the process and address any questions you may have. Consider finding a different expert if your current one ever makes you feel uncomfortable or won’t answer important questions.

Breast augmentation is a medical treatment that typically takes several hours, but if there are no complications, you should be able to go home the same day. You will receive IV sedation or wide sedation during the activity.

Your specialist will either place the inserts over (superficial) or below (submuscular) the chest wall muscles (subglandular). The cut will then be sealed by your professional using tape, lines, or paste. A short visit to the medical facility or clinic is typically not required for a bosom augmentation operation.

Make sure you have a friend or relative available to drive you home following the surgery, which should take around an hour. Your breasts will be covered in dressing and a backup bra or piece of gauze. For the best outcome, it’s critical to adhere to all post-operative instructions from your specialist. Wear your support bra, rest for however long your doctor advises, take any prescribed medication, and be aware of the signs of contamination.

If you have any concerns, call the clinic straight away. If you believe there is an emergency, go to the ER. The worst of the irritation should subside within the first week, although swelling and irritability will persist for a month. You’ll get the best embeds if you follow your doctor’s recommendations for limiting exercise, working out, and follow-up appointments.
